FRIAR GATE STUDIOS TO TAKE OVER MANAGEMENT OF KINGS
CHAMBERS
Friar Gate Studios, home of the creative industries in the city, are to take over the management and marketing of the Kings Chambers office suites on Queen Street in Derby.
The Studios on Ford Street, which have proved extremely popular since their launch in 2007, are set to partner with the Kings Chambers, which offers 19 first and second floor city centre office units at extremely low rents.
The Chambers aim to provide new and developing businesses with affordable office space on flexible monthly terms. Office units start at 105 sq ft (9.75 sq m) and are available up to 257 sq ft (23.91 sq m). Rentals start at just £585 per annum and attract 100% relief on business rates.
In addition to low rents and flexible terms, businesses taking space at the Kings Chambers will be able to take advantage of the full range of services available at Friar Gate Studios, including its bureau services and programme of events.
Several of the office suites have already been let to new and developing businesses and it is envisaged that collaboration with Friar Gate Studios will prove an attractive proposition to new start-ups looking for a city centre address.
Commenting on the partnership between the two sites, Ann Bhatti, centre manager at Friar Gate Studios, who will also be managing Kings Chambers, said:
“We are delighted to be marketing the Kings Chambers office suites, which provide the perfect location for new start-up’s or small businesses that currently work from home and are looking to take their first steps into business accommodation without the commitment of a lengthy lease.
“Half of the units have already been taken by businesses operating across a broad range of sectors and given their excellent city centre location and flexible rent terms, we expect the rest of the accommodation to be occupied in the near future,” added Ann.
Friar Gate Studios were launched in Spring 2007 in response to the continued growth of the creative industries in the city and surrounding areas. The Studios comprise of 40 offices, ranging in size from 275 ft2 to 1,190 ft2 and offer stylish, modern office facilities for businesses in the arts, design, media and other creative industries.
Tenants have access to broadband, on-site management and reception services, meeting rooms, IT support and visitor parking. They also benefit from a range of other facilities, including virtual office and hot desking, conference facilities, video conferencing, event and networking opportunities.
