TENANT GOES FROM DINING ROOM TO BOARD ROOM
A local business, which started life on the dining room table of its founder’s house, is celebrating the recruitment of its first member of staff.
ASD Solutions, a software consultancy and development company based within Friar Gate Studios on Ford Street in Derby, was launched in 2007 on Antony Stevenson’s dining room table in Allestree after he graduated from Manchester University.
Antony moved to his first office premises at Friar Gate Studios in 2008, operating from shared office space with design consultants, Blue Nectar, which was arranged by centre manger Ann Bhatti in order to provide a more affordable solution for both companies during the recession.
The company has taken great strides over the last 18 months, however, and as well as moving into its own office space within the Studios, it has helped to develop a social media service called ‘SendSocial.com’ which attracted significant investment earlier this year, expanded its operation nationwide - and has now recruited its first member of staff, software developer Chad Tomkiss.
