What is marketing and does it matter?

Marketing should be embedded into our business plans and EFFECTIVE marketing covers multiple channels:

Brochures – Leaflets – Website – PR – Events – Social Media – Film - Photography

My top marketing tips are things that as business owners we should be doing on a regular basis:

1. Always think about what your customer sees when they look at any of your collateral – is it clear, does it tell them about your product/service, how do they get in touch with me
2. Never produce anything in isolation without making sure it all looks like it is from the same company
3. Always get someone else to read through your copy before you go to print or go live online
4. Never assume your customers know all the products and services you offer
5. Always be aware that from your e-mail footers, to meeting someone at a networking event you and your staff represent your company values.
