Building world class brands
– an evening with Molson Coors
Carling, Grolsch, Coors Light and Cobra – just four of the major league beer brands marketed by Molson Coors (UK) in Burton, just half an hour down the road from Derby.
Creative businesses are invited to discover how this top-three UK brewing giant manages its brands and a £15 million pound marketing communications budget in a speech by Simon Pick, Molson Coors UK Marketing Communications Director.

Simon – who prior to Molson Coors was Brand Manager for Fanta at Coca Cola – will be the special guest speaker at a free networking event on Thursday evening, 19th November at Derby’s Friar Gate Studios. The event is the latest in a series of highly popular free networking evenings hosted by Friar Gate Studios to support creative businesses in and around Derby.
Simon’s speech is strongly recommended for anyone working in marketing, branding, design and the creative industries. He will talk about how Molson Coors manages branding and integrated marketing communications programmes – from its massive sponsorship of football’s Carling Cup and the ‘100% British Barley’ advertising campaign, to smaller innovative initiatives such as the acclaimed ‘i-pint’ iPhone application. Simon will also discuss how it uses marketing to stay ahead in this hugely competitive consumer market sector.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP as soon as possible to fgs@friargatestudios.co.uk so we can cater correctly for drink and snacks, which will be available at no cost. A selection of Molson Coors beers will be available for tasting on the night! Places may be limited for companies wishing to bring multiple members of staff.
The venue is Friar Gate Studios, Ford Street, Derby DE1 1EE. The evening will start at 6pm with Simon Pick speaking at 6.30pm for around 45 minutes including Q&A. Afterwards, guests will have the opportunity to continue networking until 9pm. We hope you can join us!

Christmas the time of year to look back at your achievements and say thanks to everyone who´s helped. Friar Gate Studios Christmas event is an informal networking event for creatives to allow themselves to relax and enjoy the festive season and meet other likeminded people.
